Many tournaments now require that you use a no-puncture lip gripper and this fulfills that requirement. There is also a strong split ring on the handle which works well to hang from a scale for easy weight measurement.

Never lose another lip gripper if dropped into the water because this one floats! The lightweight and durable polypropylene frame is a full 10” long x 3 3/8” wide at the handle and is 5/8” thick. It weighs less than 4 ounces so it’s easy to take with you on every trip no matter how close or far you travel. Works great for predator fish with large teeth. You can safely land, remove hooks and release these fish without fear and you’ll always be in complete control of your catch. Works great with scales! Simply hang the gripper onto your scale with the fish attached to get an accurate weight measurement. Some tournaments now require lip grippers of a no-puncture design, and this one meets those requirements.
